Ellen F. Ruroden, formerly of Dubuque, died Tuesday November 21, 2023, at AHVA Living in East Dubuque IL. She made it to age 99.

Private service will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, with Morgan Frazer officiating, at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory 2595 Rockdale Rd. Entombment will take place at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Ellen was born October 7, 1924, in West Union IA, to William E. and Marjorie (Ash) Billmeyer.

She graduated from West Union High School at age 17. She worked as a secretary several places in West Union. She moved to Dubuque in 1953 and started working at American Trust & Savings Bank where she retired after 35 years as the branch manager at the 32nd Street location.

Ellen enjoyed reading, traveling, and most of all being her daughter Linda’s favorite caddy.

She is survived by her daughter and best friend Linda Sanford, and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Marjorie Degner; brother William “Buddie” Billmeyer; and niece Marlys Wheeler.

In lieu of flowers a memorial had been established.
