Harold Conzett
Harold “Harry” Conzett, 93, of Dubuque, passed away September 25, 2024.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a Scripture Wake Service at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, September 29, 2024, at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, Dubuque. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2024 at the Church of the Resurrection. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Harry was born on April 6, 1931 to Harold and Genevieve (Cain) Conzett Sr. in Dubuque, IA.
He was united in marriage to Darlene (Raine) Conzett on November 27, 1952 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dubuque.
Harry was a member of the Noon Optimists Club, and a proud supporter of the Dubuque Senior High School Ram Booster Club.
He was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church where he enjoyed actively participating in the church choir.
Harry loved watching college football and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones. In his free time, Harry enjoyed playing card games, particularly bridge and euchre.
During their retirement years, Harry and Darlene loved golfing and traveling together. They also cherished their international travels and cruising together. Together they visited Hawaii, Greece, France, Panama, and Canada.
Above all, Harry absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He always loved having the family together.
Harry is survived by his wife, Darlene; children, Sheila (Gary) Ward of Tuscaloosa, AL, Deacon Michael (Valerie) Conzett of Omaha, NE, Mary Beth (Bradley Dickinson) Conzett of Plymouth, MN, and Ellen (Darren DeLisle) Kijowski of Shorewood, IL. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brandon Lee, Jackie Owen, Christopher Conzett, Andrew Conzett, Margaret Van Winkle, Kristen Gianpetro, and Lauren Fischetti. Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; and a brother, Dale (Millie) Conzett.
Harry’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA.
