Irene A. Klein, 100, of Balltown, died Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Stonehill Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 25 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Balltown, with the Rev. Tyler Raymond officiating, where visitation will be held Saturday from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Irene was born August 5, 1923, daughter of Earl and Daisy (Roe) Brahm. On November 16, 1943 she married Albert J. Klein.  He preceded her in death on July 12, 2013.

Irene worked at Flexsteel Industries and enjoyed gardening and cooking.  Christmas was her favorite time of year.

She is survived by three sons, Rick (Jane) Klein, Dan Klein, of Dubuque and Kevin (Danielle) Klein, of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren, Brian, Mark, Cory, Nikki, Alex and Anna; three great grandchildren, Aiden, Trevor and Jacob; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by parents and siblings; Clyde, Marian, Evelyn, Kay, Doris and Ozzie.

The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to thank Kristin and Karen at Hospice of Dubuque, the nurses and staff at Stonehill Care Center, and Judy Gansemer, for all of their care.
