Tyrone A. Freese
Tyrone A Freese, 85, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday July 15th at St. Mary’s Church, East Dubuque, where family and friends may call from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the East Dubuque Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by members of East Dubuque American Legion Post # 787.
Ty was born on August 17, 1939 in Hazel Green, WI, the son of Bernard and Hildegard (Neis) Freese. He was united in marriage to Jean Ann Vanderah on October 10, 1959 at St. Mary’s Church in East Dubuque.
Mr. Freese was a graduate of East Dubuque High School and was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1959 at the Albuquerque munitions plant. After the Army Ty returned home and started working at Farly & Loetscher Mfg. Company, Pepsi for 3 years, and Flexsteel for 36 years until his retirement in 2001.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion for 30 years and the General Drivers Union Local # 421. Ty was an avid golfer and got his first hole in one when he was 80 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3-brothers, Jim, Gerald, Eugene and a sister Yvonne.
Surviving is his wife the former Jean Ann Vanderah; their children, David (Lori) Freese East Dubuque, Dan “Buff” (Debbie) Freese Hazel Green, Debbie Nadermann Dubuque, Diana (Kevin) Loney East Dubuque, Don (Ronnatta) Freese, Homa LA; 15 Grandchildren (1 girl); and 16 great- grandchildren.
