Veterans Served Free Breakfast by 24-Hour Care at the Veteran’s Freedom Center
Every year around Veteran’s Day, 24-Hour Care hosts a hearty breakfast for the amazing men and women at the Veteran’s Freedom Center in Dubuque, IA. Pancakes, Eggs, Sausage and Cinnamon Rolls were on the menu this year. We served about 40 Veterans who left with a smile on their face and a full belly! Our staff enjoyed great conversations with the men and women who volunteer their time to keep this establishment running smoothly. We enjoy treating you throughout the year.
If you don’t know, Jim, Al and the crew are always willing to help where they can. If they aren’t helping local Vets to and from Iowa City for appointments or assisting them in finding medical equipment, they can be found in the county checking bluebird boxes or entertaining Veteran’s on fun bus excursions – typically at little to no cost. There is always hot coffee brewing and a game of pool being played in the back, where you will find pictures of the volunteers in their uniforms from their service years. These heroes don’t wear capes. They volunteer at the Veteran’s Freedom Center to ensure all Vets are taken care of in some capacity with grace and acceptance.
ALL of us at 24-Hour Care want to thank you for your service and your dedication to your fellow comrades in coming together through this great networking group. If you want to help this amazing group, please consider volunteering, donating cans/bottles, or stop in to say HI!
