Donald I. Lindauer, 78, of Cascade, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 6:22 p.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade, Iowa.

Friends and relatives of Donnie may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa.

Services for Donnie will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa with Rev. Douglas Loecke Presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade, Iowa.

He was born September 26, 1940 in Cascade, Iowa, son of Edwin and Stella (Kintzle) Lindauer. He received his education at St. Patrick’s school in Garryowen, Iowa. On November 24, 1962 he was united in marriage to Ellen Urbain at St. John’s Catholic Church in Placid, Iowa. He was owner of Midwest Tool and Die. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen Lindauer of Cascade, IA; seven children Marty (Sara) Lindauer of Monticello, IA, Phil Lindauer of Cedar Rapids, IA, David ( Kimberly) Lindauer of Fairfax, IA, Ted (Jennifer) Lindauer of Bettendorf, IA, Tom (Holly) Lindauer of Vinton, IA, Sue Lindauer (& Phil Kobliska) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Sara Lindauer of Madison, WI; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; three siblings, Isabel Lindauer of Dubuque, IA, Alice Wolf of Dubuque, IA, and Mary Green of Cascade, IA; sister-in-law, Helen “Blondi” Lindauer of Cascade, IA; brother-in-law, Roger Sherman of East Dubuque, IL.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Joseph Lindauer; and two brothers, Ed (Marie) Lindauer and Bob Lindauer; two sisters, Jane Lindauer and Helen Sherman; two brothers-in-law, Jim Wolf and Gil Green.

A Donald Lindauer memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
