Doris M. Theisen

Doris M.  (Till) Theisen, 92, of Bellevue, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 peacefully in her sleep at home. 

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bellevue.  A visitation will be from 9:00 am until Mass time at the church.  Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Bellevue.

 Doris was born April 29, 1932 in Bellevue, the daughter of Anthony and Lucille (Entringer) Till.  She was baptized at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in LaMotte.  Doris married Raymond “Ray” Theisen on June 27, 1950 at St. John Catholic Church in Andrew.  Doris and Ray owned and operated Theisen’s Grocery 1952-1972.  Doris then worked for the Bellevue Community School District for 35 years, 13 as a bus driver and her last 22 years as a paraprofessional. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, and Minnesota Vikings fan, enjoyed reading and doing puzzles. Doris had just completed her 910th consecutive weekly family newsletter.  She loved, cherished, and adored all her family.

 Survivors include her husband, Raymond “Ray” Theisen; children, Judy (Laverne “Butch”) Merritt, Jerry (Karen) Theisen, Jeff (Trudy) Theisen, Joe (Lisa) Theisen, Jay (Jenny) Theisen, and Jon (Lisa) Theisen; a daughter in-law, Pat Theisen; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Roger (Helen) Till, Rosie Feller, and Carol (Mick) Clark; brothers and sisters in-law, Jean Till,  Lek Till,  Merlin (Helen) Theisen, Kenneth (Mary) Theisen, Marce Capesius, and Jean (Robert) Casel; and special friend, Chris Ernst. 

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim Theisen; a grandson, Jeremy Theisen; a granddaughter, Jessica Theisen; god child, Lynn Till; mother and father in-law, Raymond, Sr. and Leona (Frantzen) Theisen; siblings, Ronald (Rosemarry) Till, Al Till, Eugene Till, and Marcellene (Merlin) Gonner; brothers and sister in-law, Gerald “Whitey” (Mina) Theisen, Ray Capesius, and Peter Feller.

A memorial fund has been established in Doris’s memory.
