Robert P. Sadler

Robert P. “Bob” Sadler, 83, of Menominee, IL, formerly St. Catherine, IA, rural Cuba City, WI, and Worthington, IA, passed away at 3:12 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at Luther Manor in Dubuque.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at St. Catherine Catholic Church at St. Catherine, with Fr. Rod Allers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. on Monday at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, where the parish scripture service will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday. Visitation will also be from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Bob was born on January 7, 1935 near Worthington, IA, the son of Earl and Florence (Schlick) Sadler. He was united in marriage to Anna Mae Ricke on June 18, 1960 at Nativity BVM Catholic Church at Menominee.

Bob and Anna Mae farmed in Worthington and rural Cuba City, WI, until their retirement, then moved to St. Catherine. He was a member of St. Catherine’s Parish, the Farm Bureau, and enjoyed a good game of euchre.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Anna Mae; three children, Daniel Sadler of Monfort, WI, Linda (Steve) Cina of Bellevue, IA, and Lisa (Jon) Rigdon of Menominee, IL,; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Jeremy, and Chelsea, Troy, Ryan and Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Trent and Madelynn Giese, and Bryleigh Rigdon; his siblings, Suzanne (Al) Blum of Dubuque, Mary Bertling of Dyersille, IA, Mike (Elaine) Sadler of Strawberry Point, IA, and John (Mary) Sadler of California, Maryland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Florence; a daughter A1C Laura Sadler, U. S. Air Force, a grandson, Joshua Frommelt and in-laws, Chuck Bertling, Rita Knautz, Rosemary Heller, Celia Ricke, Alverna Ricke and Clarence Ricke.

Anna Mae and family wish to thank the nurses and staff at Luther Manor for the special care given to Bob.
