Stephanie A. Jesus, 69, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m.

Stephanie was born on May 4, 1949 in Honokaa, Hawaii, the daughter of Frank and Louise Jesus. She was a graduate of Clarke College and later taught history there. She later worked at the John Deere Dubuque Works, retiring in 2015.

Her greatest joys in life were her daughter, three grandchildren, great granddaughter who called her GG, and her cat Kahaloha. Her love was watching her grandson Brett grow up playing baseball, cheering him and his team on, being obnoxiously loud with her granddaughters by her side. She enjoyed her lunch dates with friends, especially her John Deere retiree group.

Stephanie was always up for a great debate to keep her strong will alive. She enjoyed volunteering at the Heritage Center at the University of Dubuque, the Grand Theater, and the Discovery Shop.

She loved visiting her Ohana family in Hawaii, her sisters, Jacki (Rod) Bothelho, Jennifer (Manuel) Souza, her crazy nephew Omi, and several nieces and nephews whom she cherished deeply.

Those left to cherish her memory on the mainland include her daughter Candi Jim)Johnson, grandchildren, Brittany, Jenna, and Brett Geisler, and her beloved great granddaughter Ellie Schmit, oe I naau o kakou mau.
