Thomas Joseph Beurskens

On Wednesday November 7, 2018 Thomas Joseph Beurskens, 75, of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Dubuque, IA and Longmont, CO passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family.

Tom was born in Dubuque on December 21, 1942 to Joseph and Camilla (Doherty) Beurskens. He graduated from Wahlert High School and Loras Academy. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother Terrence in infancy.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret (Manemann) Beurskens and their children Marcus Beurskens and Julia DeFilippi, and grandchildren Ryan and Tess DeFilippi and Olivia Beurskens, all of Colorado. Tom also leaves behind his sisters Jody Roltgen, Bette (Jim) Oeth, Angela Thompson, and Therese (Mike) Thayer, as well as brother-in-law Stephen Manemann, step sister-in-law Susan (Bill) Milligan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tom was always ready with a joke and a smile. He loved to make everyone laugh, and he impressed us all with his unparalleled knowledge of trivia.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held in the spring at Sarasota National Cemetery, with military honors.
