Virginia M. ‘Ginnie’ Becker, 75, of Dubuque passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Bethany Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 3, 2018 at Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Fr. Dwayne Thoman will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 2nd at Hoffmann Schneider and Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, where there will be a prayer service at 12:45 p.m.
Ginnie was born January 23, 1943 in Cuba City, Wisc., daughter of John and Germaine (Schmitz) Langkamp. She married David Becker January 25, 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Dubuque He preceded her in death on January 5, 2013.
She owned B-Lovely Beauty Salon, worked at Prudential Financial and was a tailor at Grahams Style Store.
Ginnie loved to socialize and made friends wherever she went.
She was an active member of Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Ghost Catholic Church, their Rosary Society and the Hairdressers Association.
Surviving are two daughters, Jean (Greg) Mallinger, of Fond du Lac, WI, and Kelly (Lonnie) Curry, of Robins, IA; two sons, Jeff (Nichole) Becker, of Hayfield, MN and Kraig (Cara) Becker, of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Courtney (fiancé Tyler), Maggie (fiancé Chris), Brittany, Tony, Stephanie (fiancé Odin), Mikayla, Breanna, Miranda, Alex, and T.J.; her companion of four years, Terry Bode, of Kieler, WI; five sisters, Rose Galle, of Dubuque, Jeannette (Greg) Pehler, of TN, Marilyn (Francis) Ihm, of Cassville, WI, Donna (Dick) Williams, of AZ, and Velma Burke, of Louisville, TN; eight brothers, Joe (Sally) Langkamp, of Lancaster, WI, Mark (Ann) Langkamp, of West LaFayette, IN, Jerry (Carol) Langkamp, of Westby, WI, John ‘Sonny” (Ruth) Langkamp, of Port Orchard, WA, Jim (Kay) Langkamp, of Schofield, WI, David Langkamp, of Cuba City, WI, Dennis (Cyndi) Langkamp, of Austin, TX, and Carl Langkamp, of Benton, WI; a brother-in-law, Tom (Lois) Becker, of Dubuque and a sister-in-law, Kathy (Merlin) Dalsing, of Kieler, WI.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother LaVerne Langkamp; brothers-in-law, Bill Galle and Doug Burke; her godchildren, Pauline Langkamp, a niece and Jeremy Langkamp, a nephew.
