Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples: Roots of Injustice, Seeds of Change with Brenna Cussen-Anglada and Kevin Abourezk
Toward Right Relationship with Native Peoples’ workshop, “Roots of Injustice, Seeds of Change” invites us to consider how we might build relationships with Indigenous peoples based on truth, respect, and justice. Through experiential exercises and discussion, the program will take us through the history of the colonization of this land using the words of Indigenous leaders, Euro-American colonists, and Western historians.
TRR is a project of the Friends Peace Teams, and this workshop was developed in response to calls from Indigenous leaders at the United Nations and the World Council of Churches.
**Please note: The TRR workshop is participatory and may involve standing for up to 35 minutes, though we will make accommodations for those who need to stand for shorter amounts of time or not at all. If participation is an obstacle to attending due to significant mobility issues, you are very much welcome to register as “observers” rather than “participants.”
A free-will donation is appreciated. RSVPs are required, either as a Participant or Observer; please RSVP online at shalomretreats.org or by calling 563.582.3592 by Wednesday, April 29.
