Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Alice will be at 10:00 am on Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Steven Rosonke as the Celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque.
Alice was born April 21, 1939, in Garryowen, IA, the daughter of Edwin and Stella (Kintzle) Lindauer. On September 29, 1962, she married James C. Wolf at St. Mary Catholic Church in East Dubuque.
Alice most recently worked for the State of Iowa with the Department of Transportation and for the City of Dubuque for the parking division.
Alice was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge where she was a past Exalted Ruler. Alice loved playing cards, especially euchre, where she played in euchre leagues. She also enjoyed working in her yard, drawing, and playing bingo. First and foremost, her family was her greatest joy.
Survivors include her four children, Sherri Wolf, Jolene Wolf, Deanne (Jeffrey) Johll, and Nicole (Bill) Wolf-Murphy all of Dubuque; daughter-in-law, Melissa Wolf of Des Moines, IA; step-daughter, Carla (Wayne) Manders of Graf, IA; six grandchildren, Madelynn Johll, Alexander (Nora) Johll, Nicholas Johll, Andrew Johll, Elizabeth Johll, and Devin Wolf; seven step-grandchildren, Jake Schmitt, Alexis Curler, Jennifer O’Dell, Dan (Shawna) Grant, Tracy Grant, Ryan Manders, and Kyle (Megan) Manders; 11 great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law, Roger Sherman and Bob (Von) Wolf; sisters-in-law, Helen “Blondi” Lindauer and Ellen Lindauer, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her son, Douglas; and seven siblings, Edwin (Marie) Lindauer, Isabel Lindauer, Helen Sherman, Don Lindauer, Bob Lindauer, Mary (Gil) Green, and Jane Lindauer.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
The family would like to extend a special Thank You to Hospice of Dubuque and Hawkeye Care Center, especially the Heacock Suite, for the wonderful care of their mom.
