Amy S. Hantelmann

Amy S. Hantelmann, 56, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on June 7, 2025.

Friends and family may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.

A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon David Roth officiating.

Amy was born on February 26, 1969, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald H. and Carmelita P. (Correll) Dean. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1987 and continued her education at Capri Cosmetology College. She married Gary Hantelmann on September 4, 1999, at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dubuque. She worked for Molo Companies for nearly 20 years. Amy was recently nominated for an award from the Pink Ladies Club of Dubuque.

Amy was the best wife, mother, sister, daughter, niece, and friend that she could possibly be. She totally enjoyed fishing, the Wizard of Oz, listening to great music, laughing, and enjoying life. She loved the colors silver and black, red roses, cardinals, and butterflies.

Amy is survived by her husband Gary, children Jared and Kaylee, siblings Shawntel (Steve) Schmitt, Dennis (Corrinna) Dean and Dan (Megan) Dean, in-laws Steve (Sally) Hantelmann, Ken (Sue) Hantelmann, Doug Hantelmann, Kevin Hantelmann, Susie (Mark) Piatt and Lisa (Jim) Smith, grandmother Delores Correll, aunt Ann (Jeff) Haas, uncle Marv (Sandy) Dean, Godfather Lenny Dean, and several nieces, nephews, friends, family, pets, neighbors, and co-workers.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carm and Jerry Dean, in-laws Janice Hantelmann, Earl Hantelmann, Karen Bussan, Nancy Reeg and Linda Lyons, uncle Tom Correll, and grandparents Clarence and Grace Dean and Ed “Spider” Correll.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, Dr. Mark Hermann, Dr. Angie Kutsch, and Dr. Jeff Stackis.
