Anne E. Prisk
Anne E. Prisk, age 84, of Dubuque, IA, formerly of Madison, WI, completed her earthly journey on August 21, 2025, at Dubuque Specialty Care.
Anne was born on July 19, 1944, in East Chicago, IN, to Charles (Becky) Lazar. She graduated high school as Valedictorian and eventually went on to finish her BA in Home Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
As an Air Force captain’s wife stationed in Guam, Anne was able to travel extensively and discovered a love for the Far East, including multiple excursions to Japan and Hong Kong, and she counted these trips as the happiest times of her life. She also enjoyed photography when time allowed, but any opportunity to indulge in the arts, music and other cultural events were always a welcomed addition to her day.
Anne embraced all that life had to offer, and would never have defined herself by her career or other identifying factors, but rather as a sum of the whole experience of a life well lived. She possessed an intrinsically kind and caring heart which continually looked toward others before ever considering focusing on herself. Her devotion to volunteer work was unwavering, and the many lives she touched through Amnesty International were beyond measure. Anne also made sure to carry her strong Christian values with her wherever her journey led. Her favorite verses from Psalm 139, 1 Peter 3 and John 11 are clear examples of her trust and faith in God’s sovereignty not only in her life, but in this world.
When we are consciously operating in His will, we need not worry about the trials and tribulations which arrive from time to time. We need only to keep being the best example we can be to those around us and allow God The Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit to direct our paths while providing a hedge of protection against the evils of this fallen world. Anne understood quite well that her role was to be the light the Lord made her to be, wherever He placed her feet throughout each step of her journey in this life.
We are going to miss Anne and her love for all that is good in this world and hope to carry on her legacy of love and kindness as we now carry her torch forward. Thank you, Anne, for living your best life with an understanding that when we give of ourselves, we ultimately receive even more in return in the end. May the Lord bless and keep you safe in His loving arms until we meet again.
Those left behind to cherish Anne’s memory include; her sons, Lawren (Therese Stehling) Prisk, Sun Prairie, WI, and Reed (Jenny) Prisk, Waunakee, WI; her sister, Sue (Daryl) Rosenthal, Loveland, CO; her granddaughter, Cheyenne Morrow, Dodgeville, WI; her great-grandchildren, Marshel Morrow and Coralyen Duell; her ex-husband, Ed Prisk; and numerous extended family and friends.
