Arthur Landen
Arthur “Art” Landen, at age 93 and a treasured member of a large loving family, was brought home to his heavenly Father on January 31, 2024.
Art graduated from North Park Academy Chicago in 1946. He continued his education at Northwestern University, earning a Bachelor of Science in accounting. He later received his CPA certification in 1952. He began his career at Arthur Anderson Accounting Firm and later transferred his talents to John M Smyth Co. and JMS Homemakers. Art finally ended his furniture adventures by closing Polk Brothers retail stores in the Chicagoland area. Deciding to leave the city life behind, Art and Su Landen (his wife) moved to Galena, IL, to create “Poopsies,” a first-of-its-kind retail shop. They decided to retire and sold the thriving business in 2010. Art was a man who embraced life, family, and friends. While missing his laugh and smile, his family will forever hold his love and kindness in their hearts.
Art’s life will be celebrated on April 6, 2024, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the Luther Manor Club House at 5300 Grand Meadow Drive, Asbury, IA. Handicap parking is available.
Instead of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Joseph the Worker Church, 2001 St Joseph Street, Dubuque, Iowa 52001, or St. Croix Hospice, 101 Elkader St, Strawberry Point, IA 52076.
