Bob Simon, 83, of Dubuque, died Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at Harmony Dubuque.

Per Bob’s wishes, there will be no formal services.

Bob  was born April 30, 1941, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Robert F. and Violet (Schweitzer) Simon. On December 30, 1966, he married Kathryn L. Backes in Galena, IL. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2018.

Bob graduated from Dubuque Senior High School. He worked at John Deere Dubuque Works for many years, retiring in 2006.

Bob enjoyed music, even dabbled in playing the steel guitar. He also was a lover of all animals from a young age. Bob was also an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan. He enjoyed traveling with Kathy to Door County, Wisconsin and going to the 3 Mile House with his son, Kris.

Survivors include his son, Kristopher Simon of Dubuque, IA.

Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife and his sister, Nancy (Jim) Rice.
