Braxton Cody Mayers, 7 months old, passed away on June 16, 2025, at MercyOne Dubuque.

He was born on November 5th, 2024, the son of Jenna Hansen and Cayden Mayers.

Braxton “Braxy” was a huge Momma and Daddy’s boy. His smile and laugh never failed to put smiles on other people’s faces and brighten their day. He always smiled and laughed when anyone would make faces at him and or smacked their lips towards him. He especially liked to be tickled on his sides, back and neck. Braxton would love when people would hold and talk to him, he was very curious and always wanted to know what was going on around him. He never wanted to sit still and loved anything that made noise or lit up. Braxton loved to grab anything in sight and hold on with all his strength; he particularly loved to grab onto hair. He also loved to screech until he turned red when he was excited getting the attention of every around. Braxton paid extra attention when Scooby Doo was on TV.

Those left to cherish Braxton’s memory include His parents Jenna Hansen and Cayden Mayers; Grandparents Brandy (Tyler) Wernimont, Heather (John Mayers) Armbruster; his Aunts Brianna Hansen, Jamie Hansen, and Jocelyn Wernimont; his Great Grandmas, June (Carrol) Gibson, Mary (Leroy) Harkey, Alice Hansen; along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Braxton is preceded in death by his Great-Grandpas Thomas Wernimont and John Hansen; Great Grandma Anne Wernimont; Uncle Cody Gibson; and great Cousin Lucas Harkey-Johnson.

Braxton’s family would like to thank the staff at MercyOne Emergency Department, Dubuque Paramedics and Leonard Funeral Home for all the love and support they have provided during these challenging times. Also, a thank you to his Great Grandma June and Great Aunt Tiffany Johnson for always keeping him entertained loved while his parents were working.
