Carmaletta M. “Carmen” Jaeger, age 84, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away  on  Friday, July 18, 2025, at Stonehill Care Center.  To celebrate Carmen’s life, family and friends may visit from 2:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m., on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street.  Funeral services will be at Behr Funeral Home following the visitation at 5:00 p.m., with Rev. Stephanie Schlimm officiating.  Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery at a later date.

Carmen was born on September 14, 1940, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Scott, Sr. and Ottilia Leuenberger.

Carmen was self-employed doing Senior In-Home Care for over 20 years.  She was a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church.  Carmen had many hobbies including fishing, hunting and morel hunting. She also enjoyed Bingo, and bowling and cards, especially Euchre.  Stockcar racing was a favorite activity, especially when she was driving in the Powder Puff Races.  Carmen was all country and had “gypsy” blood that caused her to move to various homesteads in her lifetime.  Carmen was “one of a kind”, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  The stories of Carmen will live on for her family and friends.

13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren;

2 brothers,
Charles “Chuck” (Jan) Scott, Jr., Dubuque, IA
and Robert “Bob” Scott, Dubuque, IA;

a brother-in-law,
Russell Sickles, Cody, WY;

and many nieces and nephews.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sons, Richard A.”Rick” Jaeger, Sr., and Joseph R. Jaeger; a sister, Leila Sickles; and a brother, John (Patricia) Scott.

The family would like to thank Stonehill Care Center and Hospice of Dubuque for their care and concern for Carmen and the family. A special “thank you” to June Henry and Betty Reinert for being there for Carmen “forever”.
