Carol Rusch
Carol Rusch, 81, of Dubuque, passed away March 13, 2024 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, Dubuque, and from 9:30-10:15a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2025 Jackson Street, Dubuque. Funeral services will immediately follow at 10:30a.m., at the church. Entombment will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Carol was born on December 27, 1942 to Clifford and LaVonne (Dosser) Christopherson in Caledonia, MN.
Carol was baptized on January 17, 1943. She was confirmed on April 14, 1957.
Carol attended Audubon Elementary School, Jefferson Middle School, and Dubuque Senior High School.
She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Daniel Rusch, on May 12, 1962 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Carol was an active cub scout den mother, and girl scout leader for several years.
She was a wonderful mother who raised a beautiful family. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In her free time, she enjoyed gardening. She was also an excellent cook.
Carol was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the Aid Association for Lutherans.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Daniel; children, Jeff (Michelle) Rusch of Dubuque, Brian (Christine) Rusch of Kansas City, Mike (Dawn) Rusch of Dubuque, and Sue (Andrew) Bellaver of Indianapolis; 8 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Connie (Bill) Wilson of Alexander, Virginia; and in-laws, Jim (Vi) Rusch of Dubuque, Jeanne (Dale) Heeren of Monticello, and Jan (Greg) Carter of Fort Worth, Texas. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and mother and father in-law.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Dubuque to be put towards the organ fund.
