Carolyn Ann Hesseling, 84, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on September 29th, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6^th, 2026, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Carolyn was born on July 8th, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Estella (Oertel) Roth.

She and Richard Hesseling were married on June 22, 2005, at the Church of the Nativity.

Carolyn enjoyed listening to music, watching TV, spending time with her daughter Cathleen, who lived with her, and taking occasional car rides to see the river.

She is survived by her husband Richard; children Cathleen Glines and Anthony Barry; bonus children Jacqualine Hesseling, Jeremy Hesseling, Jamie Hesseling and Maddy Leytem along with her sister Cherie (Terry) Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Tim Barry, her sister Bonnie Roth and two brothers Arnie Roth and Anthony Roth.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
