Carolyn I. Anthony
Carolyn I. (Pfohl) Anthony, age 82, of Kieler, WI, passed away on Thursday afternoon, September 11, 2025 at home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2025 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kieler. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025 and from 9:45 – 10:15 a.m. on Friday at the Immaculate Conception Parish Center, where the parish scripture service will be said at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The Miller Funeral Home of East Dubuque, IL is assisting the family.
Carolyn was born February 10, 1943 in Dubuque, IA, the daughter of Roy J. and Viola C. (Kintzle) Pfohl. She was a graduate of Wahlert High School, the class of 1961. On September 7, 1963 she was united in marriage to Merlin H. Anthony at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Sherrill, IA. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1990.
Carol farmed with her husband Merlin. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Parish and its CCW. Carol was a member of the Red Hat Society Ladies Group and enjoyed bowling.
Carol was defined by boundless love and unwavering support for those she held dear. She found great joy in being a grandma, never missing a chance to cheer from the stands, attend graduations, birthday parties, and weddings. Celebrating milestones, achievements and moments that mattered to her grandchildren. Over the last two years she beamed with pride each time she announced the arrival of a new great-grandchild, her joy growing with every addition to the family. Carol leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories.
Surviving are her children, Patty (Chris) Heiderscheit of Holmen, WI, Joan Anthony of Boscobel, WI, Julie (Dean Altmann) Kriewald of West Salem, WI, Jerome (Lisa) Anthony, of Cuba City, WI, Lisa (Brian) Bockhop, of Dodgeville, WI and Dennis Anthony of Rockton, IL; 14 grandchildren, 3 great- grandchildren and one on the way; her brother, Harlan (Janet) Pfohl, Dubuque, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Viola, her husband, Merlin, sister, Audrey Oberfoell and brother, Robert Pfohl.
