Carolyn was born on August 14, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Betty (Burns) Wagner.
Carolyn deeply valued her role as a Classroom Grandma at Hoover Elementary, where she found joy in supporting students and contributing to their growth. She extended her commitment to community service by assisting at the Carnegie‐Stout Public Library, helping patrons and fostering a love for learning. Before dedicating her time to community service, Carolyn worked as a PBX Operator with Venture; and also helped produce volunteer shows at TCI Cable.
Her faith was central to her life, as she was a devoted member of Word of Life Church. Carolyn also enjoyed recreational activities, especially her years spent bowling at Creslanes Bowling and Fisher Lanes. She cherished the time spent playing card games with her family, creating lasting memories.
Carolyn found beauty in the simple joys of life. She loved bird‐watching and observing butterflies, found peace in quiet walks along the beach, and appreciated the tranquil moments spent at the Dubuque Arboretum. These activities brought her comfort and serenity, reflecting her appreciation for nature and the world around her.
She is survived by her daughter Amy (Dan) Nemmers and her son Timothy (Brenda) Wolf along with her sister Cindy (Larry) Stephens.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Our family offers a special and sincere thank‐you to the wonderful staff at Stonehill Care Facility. Your kindness, compassion, and attentive care meant so much to us. We are also deeply grateful to all who supported us and kept us in their prayers during this time.
Memorial gifts, donations and floral tributes are respectfully requested to be sent to Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory.
