Other sports teams he followed closely include the NFL’s Rams and the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars and LA Kings.

Auto racing was also one of Chad’s passions. He grew up attending various types of auto racing series, which included IndyCar, Trans-Am, IMSA, and NASCAR with his dad and family. For many years he enjoyed spending weekends at the races at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. Chad was a lifelong bowler and participated in league bowling starting in high school. He was a long-standing member of the “Leaky Lodge” club at the Grand Tap.

Survivors include his siblings, Debra (Tim) Hanson of Springfield, MO, Kim Oberbroeckling of Dubuque, Sandra Oberbroeckling of Ames, IA, and Dan (Rebecca) Oberbroeckling of Davenport, IA; nieces, Jeanne (Andy) Hanson, Anna (James) Hanson, Laura Hanson; nephew, Gavin Oberbroeckling; and grand-nieces, Kai Hanson and Claire Hanson.
