Charles L. “Chuck” Grindey, age 74, of Shullsburg, WI, formerly of Scales Mound, IL, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at home.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the Miller–Steinke Funeral Home in Scales Mound, IL.

Chuck was born on May 2, 1952, in Shullsburg, WI, the son of Clarence L. and Lila M (Hazen) Grindey. He was a graduate of Scales Mound High School, the class of 1970.

Chuck was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed golfing, his computer, watching nascar racing and buying scratch-off tickets.

He is survived by three sons, Steve (Laura) Grindey of Scales Mound, IL, Dan Grindey of East Dubuque, IL, and Matt (significant other, Julie Geissbuhler) Grindey of Shullsburg, WI; two grandchildren, Aria Grindey and Devin Griffith and a great grandchild, Dean Griffith; his former wife, Sheri Grindey of Scales Mound, IL;  his siblings, Marlene Molitor of Scales Mound, IL, Tom (Melody) Grindey of Warren, IL, Rich (Diane) Grindey of Shullsburg, WI, Butch (Donna) Birkett and Terry Grindey both of Scales Mound, IL.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lila and a brother, James Grindey.
