Charles M. Menadue Jr.

Charles M. Menadue Jr., 92, of Dubuque, died Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Grand Meadows.

“Charlie” was born on March 11, 1934, in Dubuque, IA, the son of Charles M. Menadue Sr. and Gladys (Sawvel) Menadue. He was the second oldest of nine children.

Per Charlie’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no services.

He served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Whetstone during the Korean War.

He made a career at the Dubuque Packing Company working in the Hog Cut and as a Union Stewart until the Pack closed. Later he worked at Steve’s Ace Hardware and Lowes until his retirement.

Charlie loved his family and his dogs, but his second love was the Green Bay Packers. He had more Packer apparel than anyone. We have many great family memories of going to Packer games in the skybox at Lambeau Field. He even went to the 2011 Packer Super Bowl.

He is survived by his #1 son,  Dr. Mark (Kimberly) Menadue, and his “three girls”, Julie (Tim) Ede, Lori (Dr. Brad) Brooks, and Sherry (Dale) McDonell; nine grandchildren, Hannah (Mat) Johnson, Grant Menadue, Jason (Tonya) Ede, Dana (Fiance Mike Sorensen) Mess, Sara (Eric) Mess, Connor (Jen) Brooks, Spencer Brooks, Jordan (Arlene) McDonell, and Kara (Colin Roling) McDonell; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Jessica Funk; and three step-grandchildren, Maddie (Kyle Bies) Funk, Tyler Anderson, and Bella Anderson.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Butler House, Grand Meadows for all their love and support to our dad.

Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home and Crematory is in care of the arrangements.

Condolences can be sent to the family by visiting Charlie’s obituary at www.hskfhcares.com.
