Charles N. “Chuck” Kerstein Jr., age 69, of East Dubuque, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 6:50 a.m., on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at home with his friends by his side.  To honor Chuck’s life, family and friends may visit from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main Street, where military honors will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps League at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Chuck was born on May 27, 1954, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Charles N. and Irene (Kelly) Kerstein Sr.

Chuck honorably served his country with the United States Air Force.  He was a self proclaimed homebody and a very hard worker.  Chuck was employed as a truck driver for T&T Iron and Metals in East Dubuque for 32 years.  In his free time he enjoyed restoring his Chevy Bel Air and watching movies on DVD.  He will be deeply missed.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck’s friends want to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Dubuque for the outstanding care they have provided for Chuck these past weeks.
