Christine “Chris” Ann (Klar) Schlosser, 70, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on September 23, 2026, after a courageous battle with spinocerebellar ataxia.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Dubuque. Interment will be at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is assisting the family.

Chris was born on August 24, 1956, in Dubuque, Iowa to Kathryn (Jerrett) Klar. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1974. On August 20, 1977, she married Ronald Schlosser and together they had three daughters. She worked at Dupaco Credit Union for over 30 years, retiring in 2019.

Chris was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved trips to Florida and summer pool days with her family. She was an excellent cook, and many will miss her Christmas treat trays. Even as her disease progressed, she remained present at her children and grandchildren’s events as their biggest cheerleader. Chris lived to make sure everyone, and everything were always taken care of.

Chris is survived by her husband, Ronald; three daughters, Staci (Bruce) Deutsch of Dubuque, Dr. Michelle (Jared) Shafer of Dubuque, and Jennifer Schlosser of Dubuque; four grandchildren, Evelyn Deutsch, Eleanor Deutsch, Addison Shafer and Peyton Shafer, all of Dubuque; brother, James T. Klar of Benton, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve (Jayne) Schlosser of Omaha, NE; Mary (Marv) Ritt of Dubuque; Lary (Pat) Schlosser of Dubuque; Gary (Kathy) Schlosser of Dubuque; Kevin (Jeanine) Schlosser of Scottsdale, AZ; and Julie Mether of Gilbertville, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathryn; brothers, Joseph Klar, Elmer (Fritz) Klar and Robert Mether; father and mother-in-law, George and Leona Schlosser; and brother-in-law, Paul Schlosser.

Her family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Dr. Kenneth Martin and Hospice of Dubuque, especially Buffy and Jill, for the compassionate care they provided to Chris.
