Cody J. Hoag
Cody James Hoag, 26, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on April 3, 2026.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
Cody was born on February 15, 2000, at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Tonya Hoag and Rodney Urban.
Cody attended the Dubuque Community School District. He was the youngest of four children, and as the youngest, looked up to his siblings. At an early age, Cody could be found fishing with his brothers. He enjoyed the peace and serenity of nature and spent time at Swiss Valley fishing for trout or hiking at the Mines of Spain. He also enjoyed campfires. Cody was knowledgeable and had a love for electronics and collected electronic cords. If you needed any type of electronic cord he had one for you. Cody also enjoyed repairing items. Cody would help you out with absolutely anything, ” in a minute.” Most recently he enjoyed farming with Nathan on the weekends. Cody loved Mexican food and grew his own exotic peppers and made his own hot sauce and named it ” Choag”. He had a love for music and singing karaoke. He also enjoyed watching his nieces play and utilized his humor to entertain them. His cats Charlie and Cheech meant the world to him.
Cody is survived by his mother, Tonya Hoag (Nathan Dean); brother, Justin (Kylie) Hoag; sister, Alissa Hoag; nieces, Aubrianna, Amarianna, and Averianna along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Urban, brother, Korey Hutzell, and grandfathers, Dennis Hoag and William Urban.
