Cynthia Chapman
Cynthia “CJ” Chapman, age 70, of Dubuque Iowa, passed away on May 14, 2026, at home surrounded by those who loved her.
CJ was born on July 8, 1955, in Rockford Illinois to Betty and Jack Chapman. She lived in Rockford until she moved to Dubuque, Iowa in the 70’s. One of CJ’s many accomplishments included working her way up from the assembly lines at Eagle Window and Door and retired as the first female supervisor for the company.
In 1995, CJ entered a relationship with Katy Morrow and continued that relationship for 31 amazing years. As part of that relationship, CJ also inherited three children (Heather, Molly and Beth). She never expected to have children, but once she did, she thoroughly enjoyed the role.
CJ was known for being a fantastic host and life of the party. She was a lifelong fan of “Da Bears” and women’s basketball. She enjoyed spending time on the river (boating or fishing), she loved good music and was always accompanied by a beloved dog.
CJ will be deeply missed and survived by her partner Katy Morrow, children Heather (Nate) Tussey, Molly (Dan) Powers, and Beth (Fred) Dery; sister, Linda (Dave) Parlapiano; brother, Steve (Jun) Chapman; along with several beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. CJ was proceeded in death by her parents Betty and Jack Chapman and her sister Sandy.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, Dr. Herman and Dr. Benda for their care and support. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
