Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory.

The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Hoffmann Schneider & Kitchen Funeral Home & Crematory with Deacon Dave Roth as the Celebrant. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Dubuque at a later date. Full military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post #6.

Donnie was born September 1, 1944, in Maquoketa, IA, and was raised by Clifford and Alice Miller. On July 19, 1969, he married Kathleen M. Williams at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dubuque.

Donnie graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1962. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served from 1963-1967. After his time in the service, Donnie worked for John Deere Dubuque Works from 1968 until retiring in 2000.

Donnie loved cruising around and traveling on his motorcycle with Kathy. As a Ham radio operator (callsign NøRWR), he took pleasure in setting up numerous towers for the Ham radio community. Target shooting, reloading shells, and keeping his lawn looking meticulous were among some of his hobbies. Donnie took great pride in volunteering for the Red Cross.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Kathleen of Dubuque; two children, Jennifer (fiancé, Craig Bahl) Miller of Asbury; Nathan (fiancé, Joanne Hillery) Miller of Dubuque; five grandchildren, Morgan, Devyn, Dalton, Trenton, and Kirstyn; three great-grandchildren, Knox, Hudson, and Rehn; and several nieces and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents.
