Doris J. Crow
Doris J. Crow, 95, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church conducted by Father Brian Dellaert. Family will greet friends 9:00 a.m.10:15 a.m., at St.Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Eternal rest and burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Galena.
Doris lived a long great life with her family and will be missed greatly. She was born on February 11, 1929 in Dyersville Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Marie (Kluesner) Bartels. Doris was the eldest living daughter at 95. She was a part of a wonderful large family comprised of 14 siblings,11 sisters and 3 brothers.
Doris, while working for the Roshek Company met the love of her life, Bill. They were married on August 21, 1954 at Saint Francis Basilica in Dyersville and spent over 60 years together before his passing.
Doris’s whole life was devoted to her family, as a wife and proud mother of her three boys and she enjoyed participating and supporting each of their lives. She loved helping them in their interests and businesses by being involved with their work, providing insight, help, and guidance along the way. She was always there when they needed her.
Survivors include her two sons, Randy (Jeff Boyer) Crow and Todd Crow; granddaughter, Gabriella Crow; her siblings, Emily Bartels, Bevlin Bartels, Marlene (Steve) McAleer, Patricia Bartels, and Nancy (Burt) Fairchild; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Crow in 2014, and son Steven Crow in 1992, who passed from Leukemia; her siblings, John Bartels, William “Woody” Bartels, Dale Bartels, Myrna Carty, Phyllis Bartels, Joyce (Frank) Caruso, Rosemary (Vern) Frericks, Joan Bartels, and Kay (Roy) Krapfl.
