Earl (Pete) Linden, 86, of Dubuque, IA formerly of East Dubuque, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

Earl was born on July 23, 1939, the son of Earl and Elizabeth (Straub) Linden of Dubuque, IA. He attended Loras Academy.

Earl married Darlene (Breuer) Linden on December 31, 1966, in Patch Grove, WI. He was a welder at John Deere for 30+ years and was a member of the UAW local # 94. He enjoyed playing golf and boating on the Mississippi River.

Surviving is his wife and their 5 children; Peter Linden of Austin TX, Patrick (Tina) Linden of Huntington Beach, Ca, Jennifer (Kevin) Averkamp of Menominee, IL, Elizabeth (Fiancé Tom Grober) Linden of Readlyn IA, Erin (Florian) Hauser of Rogers, AR. Eight grandchildren: Katelin and Patrica Averkamp, Olivia Brimeyer, Paige, Reid & Bryce Linden, Mia & Ava Hauser. He is also survived by two siblings; Janice Wuertzer and Jack Linden of Dubuque; two brothers in law Jerry (Joan) Breuer, Bill Scott and two sisters-in-law, Diane & Kay Breuer, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Earl in death is his daughter Stephaine Linden, his parents, father and mother-in- law, Christopher and Patrica Breuer, and his brothers, Robert, Tom, Delbert, Donald, and his sisters Dolores and Charmain.

Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, March 21^st at St. Mary’s Church in East Dubuque, IL, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, with Fr. Bosco Aruldoss officiating. Burial will follow at the East Dubuque Cemetery.
