Edmund “Ed” Laue passed away at 68-years-old on the evening of February 16th, 2024. He passed comfortably and peacefully in his home after being called to Heaven by his late mother Gladys Hummel.

Family and friends will be gathering from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday February 23, 2024, at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595 Rockdale Road in Dubuque with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Will Layton officiating. A private family burial will take place at the Chatsworth-Charlotte Cemetery in Chatsworth, IL. With his magnetic and bigger-than-life personality, Ed impacted many lives during his time on Earth. All who knew him fondly are welcome to come and attend his service.

Ed made it very clear that he did not want floral arrangements or gifts sent to the family. He requested that donations be sent to the Dubuque Regional Humane Society or any non-kill shelters local to his loved ones.

Ed was born in Chicago, IL on March 31, 1955, the son of Charles and Gladys (Hummel) Laue.

He is survived by his two children Eleanor G. “Nora” Laue of Saline, MI, and Edmund J. “Eddie” Laue of Dubuque, IA along with their mother Mary Ellen Laue.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Gladys Laue.
