Eleanor Hamilton (nee Curtis) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Hill View Health Care Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the age of 76. She was born and raised in Hazel Green Wisconsin. Attended Benton and Hazel Green Grade schools and graduated from Hazel Green High School in 1966. She obtained a registered nursing degree from Madison Methodist Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. She worked for the VA medical centers in multiple locations until she retired from the Tomah VA in 1996.

In 1982 Eleanor met the love of her life James (Jim) Hamilton and they were married until his death in 2024. Through the years they experienced many adventures together.

She also became a stepmother and grandmother to Jim’s family and loved them very much.

Eleanor is survived by two stepchildren: Paul (Sarah) Hamilton of Tomah, WI and Carl (Jennifer) Hamilton of Westby, WI. Six Step grandchildren: Kin, Levi, Brandie, Airiel, Haylie, Jayden; a sister Phyllis Olds, and brother Donald (Janet) Curtis.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Jim Hamilton and her parents Oswald and Beryle Curtis and a brother-in-law Dan Olds.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm on Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Vosseteig Funeral Home, 203 N State St., La Farge, WI. Rev. Bob Streeter will officiate.
