Everett A. Bowling, 71, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 28, 2025, at home.

Everett Allen Bowling was born on May 25, 1954 in Maquoketa, Iowa, to George, Jr. and Elinor Mae (Beaman) Bowling.  He married Brenda Marie Bystol on June 9, 1978 in Andrew, Iowa.

Everett first worked as a truck driver, and then for Maquoketa Lumber Company, Pacific Coast Feather Company, and most notably for Stickley Electric in Maquoketa.

In earlier years Everett played guitar in a band.  He enjoyed woodworking, and spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, and boating.  He also liked jigsaw puzzles and meticulously mowing his lawn.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Brenda Bowling of Maquoketa, IA; children, Carrie (Chris) Browne of Maquoketa, IA, Stephanie Bowling of Andrew, IA, Travis (Sheila) Bowling of Maquoketa, IA, and Brad (Tabitha) Bowling of Grimes, IA; 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild; and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Bowling of Maquoketa, IA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Kenneth and Thomas, and a son Matthew Allen Bowling on October 30, 2020.

A public graveside service and burial celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 A.M., Friday, August 1, 2025, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa.  Visitation will be held from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M., Friday, August 1, 2025, at Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, an Everett A. Bowling memorial fund has been established.
