Frank B. Stevens, 77, of Guthrie Center, Iowa, and formerly of Maquoketa, and McCausland, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Frank Burton Stevens was born on March 22, 1949, in Clinton, Iowa, to Dan Leslie “D.L” and Alverta Cecelia (Schneckloth) Stevens.

He grew up outside of McCausland, where he and his brothers raised and showed Hereford cattle and broke ponies and horses on the farm. He graduated from North Scott High School. He then attended Eastern Iowa Community College in Muscatine, Iowa, where he earned a feed and fertilizer management degree.

After college, Frank returned home to help his father run the family fertilizer business. It was the first fertilizer business in Eastern Iowa. Frank also farmed in McCausland and in 1979 moved to Baldwin, where he continued farming. He then moved to Maquoketa where he worked for the Maquoketa Livestock Sale Barn for several years. Lastly, he earned his welding certificate and worked as a welder for N & N Trailer Sales in Monticello, Iowa.

Frank was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Maquoketa, where he was very active with the youth group, going on several mission trips. He enjoyed being outdoors, woodworking, and raising horses. He spent his retirement with his grandchildren and helped them establish a herd of registered Boer goats.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Regina “Reggie” Stevens of Guthrie Center, IA, and Shawna Stevens of Des Moines, IA; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nancy (Ted) Kachel of OK, Larry Stevens of IL, Cliff (Melody) Stevens of Long Grove, IA, and Dave Stevens of Maquoketa, IA; and a sister-in-law, Jan Stevens of Andrew, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Trever, and a brother Ronald.

A graveside service and burial celebrating Frank’s life will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the McCausland Cemetery, McCausland, Iowa.  A luncheon will be provided at the McCausland Methodist Church at the conclusion of the graveside service. The Carson Celebration of Life Center in Maquoketa is caring for the family.
