Gary H. Glab
Gary H. Glab, 84, of East Dubuque, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Stonehill Health Center, with family by his side.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the Miller Funeral Home in East Dubuque, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 18, 2025 with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be in the East Dubuque Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by East Dubuque American Legion Post # 787.
Gary was born on February 3, 1941 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Eldon and Irene (Tanner) Glab. He was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School, the class of 1959. On August 3, 1963 he was united in marriage to Joan A. MacFarlane at St. Mary’s Church, East Dubuque, IL.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam War.
Gary was formerly employed at The Adams Company, John Deere Dubuque Works, Project Concern, Head Start of East Dubuque and lastly at St. Mary’s School in East Dubuque.
Gary was a Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed coin collecting, bowling, and going shopping, but most of all enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and attending their various events.
Surviving is his wife, Joan; children, Dan Glab, Debbie (Mark) Schueller, Diana Basa and Doug Glab all of East Dubuque, IL and Dusty Glab of Dubuque, IA; seven grandchildren, Ricky, Nate, Dakota, Hunter, Megan, Jadyn and Trenton; two great granddaughters, Brynlee and Layla; one brother, Joe (Phyllis) Glab of Omaha, Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Irene, and three brothers, Terry, Tom and Don Glab.
