Gary Sisler, age 75, died Friday, October 16, 2026 at his home near Stanton. He was born October 28, 1950 to Joseph and Eileen (Viertel) Sisler in Dubuque, Iowa.

On November 28, 1970, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Kathleen (Schmitt) Sisler. They enjoyed 55 years together. After living in numerous towns in the Midwest, they settled in the Greenville/Stanton area, moving here in 1978. He greatly appreciated the friendship of the Johnson family and all they have done for him and Kathy.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting wood, target shooting, gambling, and trips to the casino.

He and his wife Kathy believe they will reunite in heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Eileen Sisler; sister, Jeanne Sisler; parents-in-law, George and Rose Schmitt; and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Patricia Schmitt, Jayne and Tom Reynolds, Gary and Judy Schmitt, and Marc Schmitt.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy; brothers, Richard (Kay) Sisler of Dubuque, Iowa and Jim Sisler of Fenwick, Michigan; sister, Joleen (Bryan) of Madison, Wisconsin; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard Schmitt and June (Pat) Hancock, all of Dubuque, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Gary enjoyed his life and loved his wife. Cremation has taken place and no public services will be held.
