To celebrate Gigi’s life, family and friends may visit from 1:00 p.m., until the time of services at 4:30 p.m., on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Behr Funeral Home. Entombment will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Gigi was born the 7th of 9 children, on August 25, 1926, in Farley, Iowa, the 5th daughter of George and Bertha (Beckman) Oberbroeckling.

Gigi was united in marriage to the love of her life, John “Jack” Weber, on May 28, 1955, at Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque. The two were blessed with 55 years together, and 2 adored children, before Jack was called home ahead of her, almost 7 earthly years to the day for their eternal reunion this morning, on April 21, 2011. Gigi was raised with a strong work ethic, and she would diligently put those lessons to use at the Dubuque Packing Company for 40 years until her well deserved retirement eventually arrived. Gigi was an active, faith filled woman who always enjoyed spending time with her friends at her beloved St. Mary’s Church, as well as social gatherings at the Moose Lodge. In her free-time, Gigi could often be found decorating, making sure everything was in “just the right place” in her tidy home, religiously manicuring her perfect lawn, practicing her throwing technique for the Jack’s Trucking Team at the bowling alley, or creating a delicious meal and sweet treats for her family to enjoy around the dinner table. Gigi was also a talented quilter who has created countless treasured keepsakes for family and friends over the years. She and Jack also traveled extensively for most of their lives and loved any opportunity to soak up the sun, sights and sounds in any new destination. However, beyond a doubt, spending time with her family brought Gigi the greatest joy imaginable. She looked forward to any opportunity where family bonding and memories could be created, especially if doting on her forever precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren could be achieved. We are deeply saddened today at the loss of our sweet mother, grandmother, sister and friend, but we thankfully discover comfort in the fact that she is now reunited with her beloved Jack, once again, and that the Lord was gracious enough to share our wonderful Gigi with us for 91 years.
