Harold was born February 9, 1937, in Sherrill, IA, the son of Edward Nicholas and Anna Elizabeth (Schueller) Nauman. He was the favorite brother of his 6 sisters. On May 19, 1962, he married Madonna Lorene Klein at St. Francis of Assisi in Balltown, IA. In those 63 years of marriage, they were blessed with 5 wonderful children.
He was a U.S. Army National Guard Veteran, serving from 1958 until 1965.
A third-generation farmer on the Nauman Family Dairy Farm, Harold took great pride in continuing his family’s farming legacy. The farm was his happy place, where he spent countless days doing what he loved most. Harold loved being behind the wheel of one of his beloved red tractors and in later years rode along with his sons and grandsons. Known for his sweet tooth, Harold never passed up a good treat. He knew all the secret spots for picking black raspberries, a key ingredient in Madonna’s famous jelly.
He was deeply proud of his family, and nothing made him happier than time spent together. Harold spent his final day surrounded by those he loved most, as his entire family gathered to celebrate Christmas. He now joins his daughter, Judy, in heaven, where they are together once again.
