Before settling into her role as a devoted housewife and mother, Irma worked at RonAnn’s Floral Shoppe and Clinton Engines in Maquoketa. Her meticulous attention to detail and steadfast work ethic were the backbone of the family business from 1973 until 2016.
Irma’s commitment to her faith and community was evident in her membership at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. She extended her caring spirit to others as a volunteer with Meals On Wheels and as a member of the Jackson County Public Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Irma also demonstrated her support as an avid supporter of the Maquoketa Athletic Booster Club.
In her leisure time, Irma found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an accomplished crocheter, creating beautiful pieces for her loved ones. Her green thumb was evident in her passion for flowering and meticulous care of her yard. Irma cherished the time spent with family and friends, and her presence brought warmth and laughter to every gathering.
