Ivana Simonit (Eve Sage) was born in Trieste, Italy on May 13, 1929.  She left this world on September 29, 2023, to be with her Jesus and all her loved ones.  With all her heart she loved her three children, Bobby, Maví and Ricky Bott.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 12:00 noon.  She loved all her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.  God bless them all!

Eve married a handsome American soldier, Robert Bott, in Trieste and they moved back to his hometown of Dubuque, Iowa in 1951.  She was very proud of passing her test and earning her United States Citizenship.  Eve graduated from Capri Cosmetology College in Dubuque, Iowa.  When she started working, she was a bartender in many places in Dubuque.  Her first bartending job was on Robert’s River Rides.  In Ft. Lauderdale, Florida she worked in a very chic beauty salon as a facialist and body waxer.  On her off days she was a bartender at Embassy Suites and Marriott Hotels.  Eve was also a concierge for the beautiful resort, “The Legends”, in Prattville, Alabama.

In 1997, she was fourth runner up for Miss Senior America of Alabama.  She came back to Dubuque in 2003, and enjoyed spending her time playing Euchre and Bridge with a lot of lovely people.  Eve wanted to thank her earthly angels, her granddaughter Lauren Bott and her husband Scott Goedert, Joyce, Margaret, Robin and Carrie from DuRide, Aaron and all of her friends from the Henry Stout and Rick Mihm from the Dubuque Rescue Mission, they all made her life easier.

Eve was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ricky Bott, in 2005, who was forever in Eve’s heart and mind, and her daughter, Maví Riggin, in 2021.
