Jake Thomas Mouring, 28, of Dubuque, IA, passed away on October 18, 2026, at home. Per Jake’s wishes, there will be no public services. The Tri-State Cremation Center is serving Jake’s family.

Jake was born on May 29, 1998, in Newark, NJ, to Jason and Jane (McGrath) Mouring. The family moved to Dubuque during his childhood. Naturally kind and gentle, he always enjoyed a good laugh and had a genuine, soft-spoken way about him that remained constant throughout his life.

Jake loved being outdoors, whether fishing, exploring, or discovering a scenic back road on a motorcycle. He had a sharp mechanical mind, an intuitive grasp of electronics, and an unlimited curiosity to find out how things worked. He enjoyed the satisfaction of working on vehicles, whether two wheels or four. Above all, Jake lived with quiet courage, a practical spirit, and a steady, accepting view of the world around him. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Jake is survived by his parents, Jason and Jane Mouring of Dubuque, IA; his sister, Grace (Jake) Truemper of Davenport, IA; his maternal grandmother, Mary McGrath of Dubuque, IA; his aunts and uncles, Anne McGrath of Dubuque, IA, Sarah Parra of Ankeny, IA, and Bob (Tara) McGrath of Ackley, IA; his cousins, Matt, Megan, Belle, Sophie, Gabe, Emersyn, Ella, Olivia Jane, Liam, and Millie; as well as many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Jerry McGrath; his paternal grandparents, Dr. Thomas and Marjorie Mouring; and his cousin, Victoria Anne.
