James Robert Jungk, 93, of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026, at home, surrounded by family.

Visitation will be from 10 AM. to Noon on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Hope Church, 11893 John F. Kennedy Rd., Dubuque, where there will be a Service held at 12:30 PM. Pastor Mark Smith will officiate. Private interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home and Crematory is entrusted with arrangements. Services will be live-streamed on the funeral home website.

Jim was born April 15, 1933 in Dubuque, the son of Julius and Margaret “Marce” (Zuber) Jungk. He married Betty Jane (Abing) Jungk on July 7, 1953 in Tennyson, WI. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2022.

Jim served his country with the Iowa Army National Guard from 1947 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He was employed at the Dubuque Packing House for 33 years. Along with his wife and best friend, Al, Jim co-owned Archer’s Pro Shop. After retirement, he worked at Sam’s Club where he loved seeing old friends and meeting new ones. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church for decades but called Hope his church home for the last twenty years. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent countless hours volunteering for organizations like Pheasant’s Forever, Dubuque Archery Club, Walleye Club, Ducks Unlimited and Quality Deer Management. Above all else he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather of three generations.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Linda (Paul “Buck”) Farni, of Durango; one granddaughter, Julie (Paul Menster) Farni, four great-grandchildren: Quinn, Kaleigha, Addison & Keegan Spahn, and two great-great-grandchildren, Zion & Damien.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother, George D. Glynn; his sister-in-law, Norma Glynn; and his dearest friends, Tom Casey, Al Gieseman, Dale Launspach, Toby O’Brien and Robert & Gladys Fury.

The family requests no flowers. All memorials may be made to the Betty & Jim Jungk Memorial Fund.
