James Templeton Campbell, 70, of Houston, TX, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026, at Buckingham Assisted Living Facility in Houston.

Services will be held privately in Dubuque, Iowa at a date and time yet to be determined.

James was born February 25, 1955 in Dubuque, the son of R. Lyndsay and Susan Valeria (Altman) Campbell.

James was a gifted artist and photographer.  His work impressed all who had the opportunity to see it.  James loved to travel.   He split his time between Houston and Dubuque, where he spent his summers.  He was a devoted son and brother.

James is survived by his brothers, David M. Campbell, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Robert L. Campbell II, of Clemson, SC, and Ian C. Campbell, of Los Angeles, CA; and three nephews, a niece, two great-nieces and a great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Robert Collier Campbell.
