Jane E. Davis, 86, of Dubuque passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at Holy Spirit Parish-Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Rev. Dwayne Thoman officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Hoffmann Schneider Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1640 Main Street where there will be a prayer service at 2:45 p.m.

Jane was born in Dubuque, Iowa to Wilmer and Mildred (Arthofer) Atkinson on June 7, 1932. She attended Holy Trinity Grade School and graduated from Dubuque Senior High in 1950. Jane was united in marriage to Joseph Davis and together they raised 6 children. She concluded her working career retiring from Target in 1998.

She enjoyed attending music events, a game of cards with friends and PBS Masterpiece Theatre. She loved all things history from her beloved Point Neighborhood to her ancestors of England, stating many times she was “More English than the Queen of England”.

She was a member of Holy Trinity parish.

Jane is survived by her children, Stanley (Julie) Davis, of Huxley, IA, Catherine Davis-Quade, of Dubuque, Ann (Dennis) Banks, of Houston, TX, Paul (Teresa) Davis, of Dubuque, Margaret (Jim) Kessler, of Dubuque, and Patricia (Keith) Elphick, of Rochester, NY; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; two sisters, Ardith Peterson and Mary Severson; and two brothers, Wilmer Atkinson and Jonathan Atkinson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
