Janet C. Conry
Janet C. Conry, 78, of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Sunday, August 3, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
An Open House Celebration of Life will be held from 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Delhi Landing (306 Franklin St. Delhi, Iowa 52223) where everyone is welcome to gather to commemorate Jan.
Janet was born August 28, 1946, in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Lloyd and Ruth (Foley) Kirkpatrick.
She married Thomas M. Conry on August 14, 1965, in Dubuque, Iowa. She devoted her life to raising her 4 children in Dyersville, Iowa (making all her children think they were each her favorite). Jan fulfilled her dream of being a loving homemaker, but also took on the role of caregiver, such as providing home care for her loved ones. She was involved in the bowling and golf leagues in Dyersville for many years. Jan had many hobbies throughout her life such as dancing, watching/feeding birds, scratching off lottery tickets, and game days with friends (especially Yahtzee). She was known for her baking and loved to cater to her kids and grandkids by making their favorite desserts. Those who knew Jan knew not to bother her on Tuesdays during her beloved Chicago Fire. Most of all, to know Jan was to love her. Jan never met a stranger. Her witty (and warped) sense of humor and laughter will live in our hearts forever.
Survivors include her children: Kevin (Dayna) Conry of Mendon, IL, Kerri (Matt) Alleman of Ankeny, IA, Kelli (Bryon Allen) Harter of Dyersville, Kyle (Kristi) Conry of Delhi; 10 grandchildren: Kindi (Jannick) Lange, Katie (Dakota) Ehrhardt, Kami Conry, Jake (Ashley) Alleman, Josh (Rohan Ebel) Alleman and Natalie (Dylan) Wood, Kenzie (Fiancé, Foster Wolfe) Harter, Brock (Fiancé, Shelby Olberding) Harter, Brayden Harter, Sydney Willenbring; 2 great-grandchildren Westyn Wood and Carson Alleman,(and a great granddaughter Vivienne Wood, due on Christmas); and her sister in law Mary (Fred) Weiler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tom in 2016, parents-in-law, Thomas Conry and Doris Hanten; siblings: Lee (Barbara) “Rusty” Kirkpatrick and Marilyn Kirkpatrick; in-laws: Kathleen Thorson.
