Jennifer was born on September 9, 1959, in Waldwick, Wisconsin, the daughter of Maurice and Lila (Derth) Garthwaite.

Jennifer graduated from Mineral Point High School in 1976.  After school, she went to work and put herself through college at NICC, graduating with honors.  She then worked at Quebeqor, Quad Graphics and Carlisle Ryan in Dubuque.  Jennifer loved her work, especially at Carlisle Ryan.  She married Raymond Harris and they had 2 children together before deciding to part ways.  Jennifer found love again and married Nicholas Meyer on December 6, 1997, in Dubuque.  They blended their families together and spent 32 wonderful years together.  She was always a very positive person and never in a bad mood.  She loved to laugh and often went to comedy clubs with her friends.  Before her illness Jennifer was a self proclaimed “health nut”.  She was very concerned with what she was eating, always making sure she made the healthiest choices.  She enjoyed gardening, attending Jazzercise and dance classes and working out at the YMCA.  Music was definitely her outlet.  Jennifer loved listening to live music, always with a diet coke in hand, and exposed herself to as many new artists as she could.  Jennifer was a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
