Jerald “Jake” Lee Dahlstrom, 86, of Dubuque, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at his home.

Jerald was born October 12, 1936, in Guttenberg, Iowa, to Melvin and Ruth (Moser) Dahlstrom.

After graduating from high school, Jerald proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1957. He was stationed in the Philippines where he served as a Cryptologic Technician Third Class.

Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, Jerald received his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Dubuque in 1966.

Jerald worked as an executive for several international corporations including Shell Oil, Parsons, and Flour Daniel. He traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Jerald was also a Peace Corps volunteer, serving in Russia and Romania. He was a talented jazz musician, animal lover, and beloved father.

Jerald is survived by daughter Kelly Elizabeth Dahlstrom, son-in-law Craig, and grandsons Andrew and Jacob.

Jerald is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Ronald and Franklin.

Jerald will be laid to rest at Guttenberg City Cemetery with full military honors.
